Puppy Socials
Held Sundays at 6:30/7:30pm at Mancelona Veterinary Hospital
10338 US-131, Mancelona, MI 49659
What are Puppy Socials?
These are play groups for puppies between 8 and 20 weeks old where your puppy gets to meet a variety of other puppies and people and play for 30 minutes. This is a great way to build confidence in shy puppies and exercise energetic puppies.
Pup parents can learn how to read dog body language through the narration of the trainer.
Benefits of Puppy Socials
Puppy socialization period ends around 18 weeks. During this crucial time, dogs learn how to appropriately interact with other dogs and people. Puppy socials can help prevent the development of anxiety and aggression. The exposure is done at your puppy’s pace to build their confidence and social skills.
Socials also create a positive experience at the vet for your puppy!
About Puppy Socials
Socials are open enrollment. Sign up to attend as many as you like until your puppy is 21 weeks old. Attend every week if you would like!
Puppy socials are led by Ashley Badgley, Certified Canine Behavior Practitioner and Dog Trainer. Puppy groups are kept in groups of 5 to maintain an enjoyable environment for everyone and separation areas are created if puppies need a break.
All attending puppies must have their first round of vaccines including DAPP and Bordetella. Puppies 14 weeks and older must also have Rabies vaccine. Proof of vaccines will be required at first puppy social.
Please bring your puppy on a flat collar or harness and a leash. Please no retractable leashes. The use of aversive or corrective collars is not allowed- including prong collars, choke chain collars, e-collars, bark collars, citronella collars, and slip collars. These collars will be required to be removed while attending socials.
