Home Manners Class

Problem behaviors in the home are one of the most common complaints. Luckily, most of these issues can be prevented, or resolved with training! This Virtual Home Manners course coaches you how to teach your pup useful skills like polite greetings, leash walking manners, and much much more!

Why take a virtual class with your dog?

  • Train at home! No need to travel to a location. Practice the skills where you and your dog are most comfortable

  • Reduced Distractions - Since your dog is in a familiar environment, they will have much better focus than a typical classroom setting for learning new behaviors

  • Recorded Sessions - Videos are left up on the private class group. Watch when most convenient for you and your dog.

  • Community - The VHM Class has a private group of other dog lovers attending the same class.

  • Earn your dog’s AKC title! Title evaluation is included in class! You can earn your dog’s Virtual Home Manners Title!

This is a virtual class held in a private Facebook group.

Required Equipment for Class

  • Well Fitting Harness or Collar

  • Regular 5-6 Foot Leash

  • Training Treats your dog LOVES

  • Treat Pouch or pocket to hold treats in

  • Dog bed, mat, towel, or crate

Dog and Handler Requirements

You should have a base level of training done with your dog so they understand how training works. You may have attended puppy or basic manners classes with your dog or have done most training at home.

Dogs who attend must be in good health with no current injuries or prior injures that may inflict discomfort or pain. If your dog has a prior injury, please consult your vet first before joining FIT DOG Class.

This class is taught using positive reinforcement training. Dogs should not be forced to perform any fitness behavior for class or evaluations.

    Once your dog has learned the required skills see requirements here, you can earn the title by sending a video to me for evaluation. Evaluation is included in the class price!

    You will be sent a ribbon upon completion. To record the title, see AKC website to submit.

  • This class is for dogs of all ages, breeds, and sizes!

    Virtual Home Manners has both titles for puppies (12 weeks to 1 year old) and adult dog (4 months and older).

    Requirements are slightly different for puppy and adult dogs, but everything is covered in the class. Reach out if you have any questions!

  • Once you sign up for the class, you will be emailed a link to join the private Facebook group. Introduce yourself and your pup!

    Once class begins, videos will be posted each week with exercises for you to practice with your dog at home. Feel free to ask any questions in the group and share videos of your progress!

    Videos are not Live so don’t worry about being there at a specific time.

    When class wraps up after 6 weeks, you can submit your videos to earn your AKC Virtual Home Manners Title by posting to the group, or privately messaging/emailing me.
